Water.. Content. Flowing. Pleasurable. Calm.
The water element rules our capacity to be content with life, to hold our thoughts, emotions, and sensations with acceptance. In balance with the other elements, the water element enables us to penetrate deeper into the human experience through deep feeling. Our experiences of comfort and pleasure in balance help to expand our state of prosperity as we manifest/share those energies in our environments. When the water element is in balance, life is in flow.
When we have too much water element, our mind is dominated by feelings and emotions, which clouds our ability to make clear, rational, and intuitive (neutral) decisions. We let responsibilities slide, avoid hard work and difficult tasks, and we can get trapped in self-pity. We may over-indulge as a way to cope or escape the energy of our emotions, which frequently leads to guilt and self-judgment.
When we have too little water element, there is a loss of joy on the spiritual path as the fire and air elements leave us feeling agitated and ungrounded. Our earth element becomes infertile, and we tend to be uptight and rigid, cutting off the flow to connection with others and to the source of prosperity. Too little water leaves us feeling discomfort/without pleasure when we meditate, and disconnected from our hearts.
In our second workshop, we will practice effective methods to bring the water element into balance; each participant will be provided with materials to take home. Maintaining a practice at home can seem intimidating (especially if our earth element is imbalanced!), but these powerful practices are fun and easy for anyone to do-- even our kids! When we enjoy ourselves, we vibrate our prosperity and benefit everyone.
